Lamigo桃猿球團因表明「拒不參加非聯盟主導之中華隊」，所以在日前宣布不參加經典賽，陣中球員一個都不上，形成中職三隊自行組隊的局面，不過根據最近媒體報導桃園市長鄭文燦已經展開協調，說服桃猿球團能退一步，以國際賽成績為重，事情似乎有了轉機。
在幾個月前的領隊會議結束後．桃猿球團因不能接受經典賽組訓又是由棒協主導，因此決定不參加，領隊劉玠廷當時強硬表示「永不參加非由聯盟主導之中華隊」，態度十分堅決。
桃猿陣中的林泓育、王柏融、陳禹勳3名選手，都是目前國內各位置最頂尖的選手，如不能出賽，想必會對中華隊戰力造成不可補充的影響，因此根據中天新聞在昨日晚間報導，桃園市長鄭文燦決定出面處理，希望能重啟討論，創造雙贏局面。
